THEME 2 - ENHANCING CANCER AWARENESS AND SURVIVORSHIP PROGRAMME (ECASP)

First In-Person Meeting of Implementation Network Europe for Cancer Survivorship Care INE-CSC COST Action (CA21152) The main aim of the COST Action CA21152 Implementation Network Europe for Cancer Survivorship Care (INE-CSC) is to systematically support the sustained translation of evidence-based interventions into routine clinical practice as part of a cross boundary, systems level cancer survivorship pathway and ultimately enhance the health and wellbeing of cancer survivors across Europe. Through this COST Action, a sustainable network of researchers, clinicians, patients, policy makers and wider stakeholders will integrate the emerging knowledge on cancer survivorship, digital health solutions and implementation science, to support a sustainable model of care for cancer patients which aims to enhance quality of life and improve symptom experience.

Ms Grace Phillips represents the GenoNurse team at IACR Cancer Research Showcase Grace Philips represented the GenoNurse team at the Irish Association for Cancer Research (IACR) three-days showcasing of the exceptional cancer research being undertaken in basic, translational, and allied healthcare professional cancer research across the island of Ireland. The conference was hosted in the Radisson Blu hotel, Athlone. The project is cofounded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union.Grace presented a poster which described “Genomic Competencies for Healthcare Professionals: A Systematic Review and Metasummary.” The poster was well received with lots of questions asked.

This COST Action has 147 members across 32 Countries. The two-day hybrid meeting provided a great opportunity to discuss and finalise a collaborative workplan. A workshop was also held on the 1st of June at which 14 presenters showcased their cancer survivorship research. European Cooperation in Science and Technology (COST) Actions bring interdisciplinary researchers and innovators together to investigate a topic of their choice for 4 years. Professor Josephine Hegarty (Action Chair) noted that - “The two-day hybrid event helped to connect researchers and clinicians across Europe to look at how we can better use our collective knowledge of implementation science and digital solutions to help address inequalities in access to supportive care for individuals living with through and beyond cancer.”
