6th Annual Mindfulness Conference 2023 The 6th Annual Mindfulness Conference was held in conjunction with the Bon Secours Hospital on Saturday, 30th September 2023. The theme of this year’s Conference was “Mindful Wellness in the Workplace”. Professor Patricia Leahy-Warren, Head of School of Nursing and Midwifery, gave the closing address.

1st Place Oral Presentation Award at Irish Research Nurses and Midwives 15th Annual Conference Ryan Goulding, PhD Candidate, member of the Mental Health Research Cluster and College Lecturer Mental Health Nursing, with the support of their supervisors, Dr Aine O Donovan (Senior Supervisor), Dr John Goodwin (Supervisor), and Dr Mohamad M. Saab (Supervisor), presented both an oral and poster presentation at the 15th Annual Irish Research Nurses and Midwives Conference. This year’s conference was held at University Hospital Limerick and the theme was “Research for All: Diversity, Equality, Accessibility”. Ryan presented findings of both their Systematic Reviews which have been completed as part of their PhD. These reviews explored the experiences of transgender and gender-diverse youth across healthcare, and a critical analysis of interventions aiming to improve the experiences of transgender and gender-diverse youth in healthcare. As part of the conference delegates voted for the best oral and poster presentation. Ryan was awarded the 1st prize for their oral presentation entitled “Transgender and Gender Diverse Youths’ Experiences of Healthcare: A Systematic Review of Qualitative Studies & Improving the healthcare experiences of transgender and gender-diverse youths: A mixed method systematic review”.
