Colleagues from the School of Nursing and Midwifery invited to attend the Health Research Board Grant Holders Conference 2023 Dr Mohamad Saab, Professor Corina Naughton, and Professor Patricia Leahy-Warren attended the Health Research Board Grant Holders Conference 2023 which took place 9-10 February 2023 in Athlone, Ireland. There were plenty of networking opportunities at the conference. Below were the conference themes: • Theme 1: Adopting interdisciplinary and knowledge approaches in health research. • Theme 2: The future of data collaboration. • Theme 3: The growing importance of research networks and international collaboration
Edina Hanley, PhD Student, presents Part of Doctoral Studies at Annual Meeting of International Leaders in Profound Intellectual Disability Research. Ms. Edina Hanley, PhD student, and Dr. Anne-Marie Martin attended the Profound Intellectual and Multiple Disability Special Interest Research Group annual roundtable and meeting hosted by KU Leuven, Belgium in February. This group are part of the International Association for the Scientific Study of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and the meeting brings the world leading researchers, clinicians and
practitioners together. There were delegates from Europe, Asia and Australia. Edina presented on an integrative review she undertook as part of her doctoral studies: An exploration of the factors influencing communication partners’ use of augmentative and alternative communication with persons with severe/profound intellectual disability. Edina’s attendance at this conference was supported by the College of Medicine and Health Doctoral Bursary Award.
