Dr Sile Creedon’s interviews about infection control and COVID-19 on RTÉ Raidio na Gaeltacha

Dr Sile Creedon was interviewed with Radio Na Gaeltachta (Saol O’Dheas) titled: Galair Togálacha (Transmissible infections). Sile spoke eloquently for 12 minutes in Irish, the interview covered topics such as the importance of hand hygiene in preventing infection transmission, the work environment of the hospital, importance of maintaining the nurse patient ratio and supporting nurses/midwives who are working very hard during COVID-19. The School of Nursing and Midwifery being guided by the University College Cork who are guided by NPHET. She spoke as to the importance of public health advice. The School continues to support students with online learning, whilst keeping the emphasis on hands on learning in clinical skills and simulation labs and in clinical practice environments. Sile touched on the International Year of the Nurse and Midwife and the important role of nurses and midwives within the health services during COVID-19. Sile referenced the new Banksy artwork paying tribute to nurses, midwives and healthcare workers.
