Research Forum Away Day, 24 th November 2022

Over 40 Research Students and Supervisors attended and presented at the School of Nursing and Midwifery’s Research Forum Away Day which took place on November 24 th , 2022 from 10:00 to 15:00 in the Dr Dora Allman Room in the UCC Hub. This hybrid event included very interesting and stimulating presentations on Open Access publishing, data management, writing for publication, and guidance on how to develop and test complex health interventions. The Away Day also included a 5x5x5 student session, where five research students presented their research in five minutes using five PowerPoint slides. This rapid- fire student session covered topics like shared decision-making, the roleof communicationpartners in intellectual disability, nurses’ experiences during COVID-19, trauma informed care, and help- seeking for Inflammatory Bowel Disease. This all-day event ended with a stimulating troubleshooting session with supervisors. The Away Day was a success with great engagement from everyone in attendance. The next Research Forum Away Day is scheduled for May 25 th , 2023 from 9:30 to 15:00 in the North Wing Council Room in UCC. Mr Tony Archer, Chief Technical Officer, produces high quality media outputs that allow us to showcase the many positive features of our School, the College, the University, and Cork City. This video, produced in 2022, does all this and more!
