Nursing Now is a three-year global campaign (2018- 2020) to improve health by raising the status and profile of nursing and midwifery.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO) as the ICN National Nursing Association are leading the Nursing Now campaign in Ireland in partnership with the Office of the Chief Nursing Officer. The Nursing Now Ireland campaign is directed by a national steering committee made up of key stakeholders. UCC is represented on this forum by Professor Hegarty. Further details are accessible on the https://www.nursingnowireland.ie website. The aim of the Nursing Now Ireland campaign is that by December 2020 the profile, role and contribution of nurses and midwives will be shared and accessible to civic society, schools, higher education institutions, professional groups, trade unions and broader Irish society; informed by events throughout 2020. A comprehensive schedule of events is being organised nationally and locally in UCC and within the South/South West Hospital Group.
