Professor Savage has been a Visiting Professor at the University of Airlangga Indonesia and the Ripas Hospital Brunei. A number of staff including the following, visited diverse locations - Dr. Mairin O’Mahony and Dr. Margaret Landers visited with staff at the School of Nursing at University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Angela Flynn visited with Critical Research in Health and Health Inequities Institute (CRiHHI) at the University of British Columbia Vancouver. Dr. Rena Creedon used a College of Medicine and Health travel bursary to visit Dalhousie University Canada. Dr. Patricia Leahy-Warren visited the School of Nursing and Midwifery, Western Sydney University, Australia. Regina Murphy attended the Public Affairs Ireland Conference, Dublin in 2017. The ability to take Sabbatical Leave is a very important mechanism for academic staff to engage in developing their research and academic profiles. Dr. Joan McCarthy whilst on sabbatical in July 2019 – March 2020 visited the Brocher Foundation Switzerland, Bern University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland, University of Vallendar, Germany and International Care Ethics, Observatory, University of Surrey. Professor Eileen Savage was a Research Fellow at Yale University for a seven-month period in 2009.
