TEACHING AND LEARNING ACTIVITIES

Over the years many of the staff have engaged in attaining a formal qualification in teaching and learning in Higher Education, which is to be lauded. Higher education institutional teaching and learning methodologies have evolved in the context of changing demands, technological and societal developments. Existing evidence affirms the link between research, teaching qualifications and student satisfaction. In addition such excellence in teaching and learning within the School has been formally recognised through teaching and learning awards over the years.

For example the CSSRC team have strived to provide evidenced based curricula embedded in a constructivistpedagogicalapproach with a view to fostering life-long learning competencies. Their efforts have been acknowledged at several UCC teaching and learning awards. These awards recognise exemplary teaching and innovative research in higher education pedagogy.
