CONFERENCE ATTENDANCE/PRESENTATIONS
PerinAtalmenTal Health (PATH) Project Lecture A pregnancy and baby brings with it great responsibility. This fact is the main reason for the 4-year European PATH project. The abbreviation stands for PerinAtal menTal Health. From its kick-off in 2019, all kinds of initiatives were undertaken to give expectant and new parents a helping hand. This was done with a focus on helping them prepare physically, socially and mentally for the many changes a new family brings. The PATH partnership involved partners from several countries including France, Flanders, the Netherlands and the UK. Launched at the end of March 2019, PATH has received more than €5 million in European funding through the ‘Interreg 2 Seas’ programme. Dr Lloyd Frank Philpott, School of Nursing and Midwifery, UCC was invited by Dr Inge Tency (PATH project lead) to deliver a Paternal Perinatal Mental Health masterclass and the closing lecture to mark the end of the 4-year project. The masterclass and lecture took place at the University of Gent, Belguim and was attended by academics, students and clinical staff. The presentation was titled “ Paternal Perinatal Mental Health(PPMH): Research and Practice”
