About the Programme This programme philosophy values the concept of positive ageing and the unique individual characteristics of the older person. This exciting programme will provide you with the opportunities to develop knowledge, clinical skills and professional networks to provide contemporary models of age attuned care across diverse settings. The range of topics covered include: Frailty • Comprehensive Geriatric Assessment • Nursing management of Pain, Wounds, Nutrition and Medications • Safe-guarding and mental capacity • Ethics. Course Delivery The structure of the programme delivery is blended which incorporates a mixture of online and some face-to-face classroom sessions (5 college days). This provides greater flexibility and allows students to work at their own pace. Entry Requirements This programme is open to Registered General Nurses, Registered Intellectual Disability Nurses and Registered Mental Health Nurses with a minimum of six months post registration experience (excluding courses) and at least three months experience working with older people. Applicants need to hold active registration on the professional register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
HIGHER DIPLOMA/ MASTERS IN MIDWIFERY
Course duration: The course runs from September to December. A 2-day orientation will take place the week prior to the starting date and attendance is compulsory.
