POSTGRADUATE CERTIFICATE

About the Programme The aim of this part-time programme is to challenge nurses to think critically and creatively about practice nursing. The programme will enable students to develop their knowledge and skills in order to keep pace with developments in the field of primary care. Course Delivery The Postgraduate Diploma in Practice Nursing will be delivered in blended learning format (online and face-to-face workshops) over two academic years. This programme offers healthcare professionals a flexible way to study while continuing to work and validate their professional experience. Students who enroll in the Postgraduate Diploma in Practice Nursing will do so for their career progression, research capacity building, higher specialist training, and general interest in practice nursing. Entry Requirements Applicants must be Registered General Nurses with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) and have a minimum of twelve months post-registration experience (excluding courses). If the applicant’s first language is not English, they must meet the minimum IELTS requirements as per the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland. Applicants must be currently working in general practice or provide written evidence that they have identified a general practice where they can undertake clinical placement.
